Andrew Leker
President, Founder, Chief Designer
Andrew Leker founded Mind Control in 1994. Mr. Leker has been designing and creating games for more than 20 years. He is the creator of the classic tabletop role-playing game, SkyRealms of Jorune, and the award-winning games Oasis, Resurrection, and Alien Logic. He is considered an expert in online gaming architecture, having developed multiplayer infrastructure for Sega, Disney, and Digital Chocolate, and is a frequent speaker on the subject of game design at conferences and workshops. Mr. Leker holds a B.A. in Physics and Applied Mathematics from U.C. Berkeley.
Rex Dwyer
Executive Vice President
Rex was previously a Senior Equities Analyst overseeing public and private technology investments in the wireless, electronics, and electronic entertainment areas at Firsthand Capital Management where assets ranged from $500M to $8B. Before Firsthand, Rex was an engineering manager focusing on Radio Frequency circuits at Magellan, Inc, a Global Positioning System (GPS) equipment maker. Prior to Magellan, Rex was the lead RF engineer at Proxim Inc. in the development of their first Spread Spectrum WLAN radio system trademarked as the “RangeLan I” in 1989-90. Rex started his career at Hewlett-Packard, now Agilent, developing microwave instruments after graduating from the University of California at Berkeley with a BS in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.
Marc LeBlanc
Senior Vice President of Engineering, Senior Designer
Marc has been creating games professionally since 1992. He began his career at Looking Glass Studios, where he was a core contributor to the now-classic Thief and System Shock series. Since then, he has helped create console staples such as NFL 2K2 and Field Commander as well as award-winning indie games like the 2004 IGF Game of the Year, Oasis. Marc attended MIT, where he was awarded a Master's in Computer Science, and the rank of Master Assassin. Marc is a frequent lecturer on game design and game development, and teaches an annual game design workshop at the Game Developers Conference. He currently serves on the advisory board of the Singapore-MIT GAMBIT Game Lab.
Matthew Douglass
Vice President of Engineering
Matthew Douglass first worked with Mind Control in 2001 developing the web/downloadable version of WordStalk. He joined Mind Control full time in 2004, was Lead Programmer for Spellagories, and also worked on the award-winning game Oasis. He soon took on the title of Director of Engineering and began close work with Marc LeBlanc on the Orbital Game Technologies, including the particulars of Orbital Network and Orbital Gateway. His previous professional experience includes engineering positions at ITG Software Solutions, LeapFrog, UBUBU and Gene Codes. He is a 7 year veteran of the digital entertainment industry. Matthew received a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Michigan.
Randy Buehler
Vice President of Business Strategy
Randy leveraged his career as a professional Magic player into 9+ years at Wizards of the Coast. Most of those years were spent as Director of Magic R&D, overseeing all game design and IP development for Magic: The Gathering (including both the tabletop game and also Magic Online). He spent the last 2+ years as a business development executive pushing Wizards to expand further into digital gaming.
Wolf Schuster
Executive Producer
Wolf Schuster brings over 10 years of production experience to Mind Control Software. In his previous role, he was managing the day to day operations of Red Hill Studios, an award winning educational multimedia company, with expertise in Serious Games, interactive software, video and scientific simulations. Wolf’s past work spans corporate marketing, development and production of federally funded grant projects promoting health and wellness, as well as a variety of games for education and entertainment. He has had the privilege to work with organizations like Autodesk, Silicon Graphics, PBS, Twin Cities Public Television, and the UCSF Medical Center.
Jeremy Hunter
QA Manager
With over 13 years of industry experience, Jeremy Hunter joined MCS after holding senior positions at leading game publishers like Sony, Sega, Spectrum Holobyte, and Eidos Interactive. He has extensive work experience in IT, QA, and Senior Management roles. He is experienced and well-versed with managing teams of employees ranging from as few as 4 to as many as 160 contingent staff members, spanning across multiple titles simultaneously. Jeremy is certified by the International Software Testing Qualification Board, and he excels at hardware and software installation and troubleshooting. He has worked on numerous successful titles, such as Tomb Raider 2 and 3, SOCOM US Navy Seals, Gran Turismo 4, Resistance: Fall of Man, and Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune.
